D.O.F.

Much has been written about Depth of Field in photography. Applied here.

I like shallow depth of field because it isolates the subject from the rest of the photo. It gives you the opportunity to play with what you see, where the eye is drawn to.

It is one of the possibilities that makes photography so much fun.

ENJOY!

SHADOWS

Nobody is waiting for shadow in real life. Like suddenly a cloud slides in front of the sun and the temperature immediately drops a few degrees. Of course it will be delicious in warm regions. Shadows are indispensable in photography. It gives depth to everything. The most beautiful is of course a diffuse light where the shadows are still visible, but here on the wall where the shadow is visible it is also a grateful subject.

ENJOY!

RUSTY AND SOLID

“Everything here is all rusty,” he said. I thought it looked solid and enjoyed the colors.

Especially the green appealed to me.

Apparently it is something that was used in agriculture. In any case, it looked solid.

ENJOY!

DECORATIONS

Behind the window glass I discovered these two colored bottles somewhere in an old kitchen in Sweden. The colors were selected by the owner, who is an artist, and they correspond beautifully with each other. Nowhere scaring colors today! Old often supports new. The new also comes from the old. Today an ode to the old, impermanence!

ENJOY!

EYECATCHER II

Looking for colors I found this dilapidated building. I think the paint is no longer available everywhere and certainly not the curtains.

In any case, the glass must be replaced.

It does result in an atmospheric image with the green bushes in front of it.

ENJOY!

EYECATCHER

Sometimes your eye is drawn somewhere. You have to look. There is something that demands your attention.

I had that experience with this photo. I remember that I had to walk a few steps down the street to be able to record this. I do not regret it, because it gives a nice insight into possible color combinations.

In fact, a lot happens when you remove the red. It results in  a completely different impression.

Moreover, you are in front of the geraniums and you are not behind them. (A Dutch joke about aging).

ENJOY!

SURPRISE

Sometimes you are put on the wrong track. It is not what it is. Yet it resembles something.

That happened to me during one of my vacations in the far north.

ENJOY!

WAITING

Of course you can hink that the painter will come one day. However, that is never the case. Actually, it doesn’t work that way in any profession.

Well, the police maybe, who checks whether she sees anything suspicious.

This is not the case in most other professions. Not even abroad. So the resident is unlucky in this case. Or it’s just old, of course. Nice too.

ENJOY!

SIGNAL II

Sometimes you come across those old things one after the other.

That is one of the great things about street photography.

Old things seems to inspire, they invite you because of their lived-throughness.

I love it.

SIGNAL

I love those old buildings with their signals. I don’t know what this bell served for, but that made the image interesting to me.

You can let go of your imagination and give it your own interpretation. It is no more than wandering through a city and encountering details.

ENJOY!
