IT’S A NEW DAY

There is something in the air. You can smell it. It seems like spring. Spring is coming! I cannot wait for it. Today is an rainy day but not on 2008-02-08 when I took this picture. Anyway you have to move in in life. No matter the date or the circumstances. “Always look at the bright side of life”, a well-known verse from a song. as far as I know this saying has based on truth.

ENJOY!

ROPE

Maybe you are curious about the end of the rope. Well it ends in the river.

One a misty morning I walked along the river called ‘de Merwede’ situated in the Netherlands. It means “wide water”. This river is part of the Rhine–Meuse–Scheldt delta and is mostly fed by the river Rhine.

During summer bathers sit on one of the beaches along the river. It’s always a nice view. I left them home this time.

It’s a well known river during WWII too because of the people of Sliedrecht. They crossed the river at night and went to one of the creeks of “De Biesbosch” in order to hide people.

ENJOY!

GONE

They are gone with the wind, the stormy weathers. No colors anymore at this time of the year. Waiting for spring to come. At my age I enjoyed autumn several times and every year I wonder about spring. Even now there’s a crisis about the sea level.

It’s increasing they say. I think so, observing the shrinking of glaciers. You can no longer start where they begun. You have to climb higher. That’s a pity.

Meanwhile I enjoy the colors of the leaves every year and I know photographers out there doing their utmost to capture one of the magics of the year.

ENJOY!

MESSAGES

“I am still there”, I hear them saying. A crispy silence occurs passing by the graves of the Jewish cemetery in Prague. It is overwhelming. What a sorrow! The image speaks for itself. Messages are given passing the stones. A leave falls down and stays over there. Another message of cooperation I think.

LINES

I saw those lines in Prague and they were fascinating me. Later on I saw the walking and sitting person. Anyway it’s a game of lines. The old church with her old lines is contrasty with the modern pattern of the street. Do I have to say about the theater? No, I don’t.

ENJOY!

MAGIC

Let there be light! This time, walking in Amsterdam, I encountered the museum of Vincent van Gogh.

In the neighborhood I saw this window. The closing forgotten by an employee I think. Anyway it brakes the pattern of a modern building. So I had tot photograph it.

Sometimes the eye sees the light even before you think about your camera.

IT’s ME

Walking around in Odense I met this statue like it is saying: “See Me”.

A strong lady looks at you.

She has a particular smile on her face.

You have to look at her.

Being proud.

Not especially about her body, but of course of her total expression.

I liked her immediately.

Children are playing around and one her.

She did not shrink.

ENJOY!

PAINT

Sometimes you encounter pure black and white. No colors at all. This time in Sweden. A little old town in the middle of nowhere. It seems people don’t care about their houses. They listened to the Beatles: “Let it be, let it be’. And so they did. Some tourists take a picture. I have been among them and had to straighten it in Lightroom because of my POV. And you know: Your POV is defining your perspective!

ENJOY !

TIME

One of the most famous clocks of The Netherlands is situated in Utrecht. The capital of the province with the same name.

At certain time in 2007 I have been there after a rainy day. I saw this reflection on one of the streets nearby the tower: “De Dom”. It’s in the old center of that city and always nice to walk trough.

‘Utrecht the place to be’, I called it at that time. So

ENJOY !

POINT

I saw three points in Utrecht, an old city in the Netherlands. A city with canals and restaurants. Nice to walk trough.
