GRANDEUR

I love ‘la grandeur’ of the old cities. Especially when they are refreshed with new architecture. Mostly the architects uses glass to regenerate the open spaces of the old times. They are very resourceful I think. In Paris too. I like how they leave the whole unchanged and yet give it a new look. So they did here in my opinion. In the mAentime it is world famous.

ENJOY!

FUTURE

What to think about the future? I really don’t know. I think it’s from all times. The future is always there, whatever you think about it. Of course planning is something. But the present time is always there. May be you can plan the present. Anyway the present is quick too. So….

ENJOY!

CONGRUENT

In Paris you will find the scientists and workaholics. They are gathered at La Defense. A new part of Paris has been born in the west of it. Easy to reach by metro and nice to photograph too.

I liked it, but it’s not my cup of tea. Anyway:

ENJOY!

FENCE

I like fences. Especially the old ones. Sometimes you will meet them at places unexpected. This time at Paris near the sugar cake. Sorry, near the Basilique du Sacré-Cœur. At sunday’s it’s busy over there. Lots of tourists. But nowadays it will be quiet. Anyway…

ENJOY!

COMPLICATED

It is Paris. Through the fencing. A complicated situation for those who do not know anything about it.

Photographing through the fencing is complicated too. Because in the corner you can see what happens.

Therefore I cut the corners.

And with black and white it’s like history.

ENJOY!

THINKING

I had to think of Rodin. Missing hands may be, but I wonder what the pigeon is thinking. I’ll never know. Anyway Paris is a wonderful city with lots to think about.

ENJOY!

HISTORY

Once, at Grootschermer – a small village in the north-west of Holland I visited the garden and museum of the former artist  Nic Jonk.

A great craftsman with a great garden in which you like to disappear, meanwhile fantasizing about ideas.

I shot one of the old windows with a reflection of an old house of that village.

A pleasure.

ENJOY!

DETAIL

I like details. Especially when they are old.

I met this detail in Dordrecht, an old city in The Netherlands, during a walk-around. Photographing details of old buildings and houses.

Nobody home this time.

ENJOY!

SURPRISE

I know the parties are over for the time being, because of the lockdown in several countries. But I have to show this particular image because it surprised me.

A former colleague informed by during her exhibition that the picture she showed was really unsharp.

So I looked for unsharpness. And surprisingly it was not difficult at all.

ENJOY!
