GONE

They are gone with the wind, the stormy weathers. No colors anymore at this time of the year. Waiting for spring to come. At my age I enjoyed autumn several times and every year I wonder about spring. Even now there’s a crisis about the sea level.

It’s increasing they say. I think so, observing the shrinking of glaciers. You can no longer start where they begun. You have to climb higher. That’s a pity.

Meanwhile I enjoy the colors of the leaves every year and I know photographers out there doing their utmost to capture one of the magics of the year.

ENJOY!

MESSAGES

“I am still there”, I hear them saying. A crispy silence occurs passing by the graves of the Jewish cemetery in Prague. It is overwhelming. What a sorrow! The image speaks for itself. Messages are given passing the stones. A leave falls down and stays over there. Another message of cooperation I think.

BACH

The place Bach should sound every minute. In my mind I hear the organ playing one of my favorite items. You get curious about the organist and follow the sound to get closer to the organ. Meanwhile enjoying the colors of the painting on the ceilings and the statues situated alongside. I could not believe my eyes. So enjoy en listen to the music in your head. Yes, it was Prague again.

ENJOY!

LINES

I saw those lines in Prague and they were fascinating me. Later on I saw the walking and sitting person. Anyway it’s a game of lines. The old church with her old lines is contrasty with the modern pattern of the street. Do I have to say about the theater? No, I don’t.

ENJOY!

MAGIC

Let there be light! This time, walking in Amsterdam, I encountered the museum of Vincent van Gogh.

In the neighborhood I saw this window. The closing forgotten by an employee I think. Anyway it brakes the pattern of a modern building. So I had tot photograph it.

Sometimes the eye sees the light even before you think about your camera.

ENJOY!

JOY

The first thing I thaught seeing this picture. Immediately I had to think of Christmas with ‘Joy to the world’. But this time it’ss continuing with ‘a friend has come’. He gave me the flower bulbs. Still I feel the pleasure of it. It’s a grandiose gift at my birthday and because of this I will never forget him.

ENJOY!

UNIVERSE

Once I shot Joris and added:

“THE UNIVERSE IS ALWAYS CLOSE TO HOME’.

Today I think it has been unchanged. It’s still there if you want to see it. Even when the circumstances are worse.

“Where the light comes in’, sang Cohen.

ENJOY!

VINCENT

There’s something build in our mind. Years of indoctrination have been made about Vincent van Gogh. A man who appeals to the imagination. It all started by reading his letters to his brother. A visit to a museum. Experiencing his metamorphoses about light and colors. Here in Denmark I met hem seeing the sloping willow with the poppies and the wheat field. I had to think of him immediately. I could no resist to make a photograph because of the lines and so on….

ENJOY!

IT’s ME

Walking around in Odense I met this statue like it is saying: “See Me”.

A strong lady looks at you.

She has a particular smile on her face.

You have to look at her.

Being proud.

Not especially about her body, but of course of her total expression.

I liked her immediately.

Children are playing around and one her.

She did not shrink.

ENJOY!

KEEPER

Once in a while in photography you met something to keep. This time I visit an old castle on the Island of Öland in Sweden. It must have been in Bornholm, because I’ve forgotten the name of the castle. Anyway it happened to be an experience in black and white. There I realized the lessons of Ansel Adams about the Ten zones of his zone system. The period with my Hasselblad an the film with 12 exposures. My darkroom too.

I remembered some annoying people came along. They were walking through my frame and I had to wait. But then they stood over there enjoying the view. They were of great value in my exposure. Still thanks folks!

ENJOY!
