Year by year thousands of tourists are coming to Holland to see the Dutch windmills at Kinderdijk.
The mills are listed as national monuments and the entire area is a protected village view since 1993.
The mills were inscripted as a UNESCO World Heritage Site at the 21st session of the World Heritage Committee in 1997.
The mills are property of the Kinderdijk World Heritage Foundation.

I met this lovely one in the Groninger Museum an could not resist to make a photo of it.
It’s because of the appearance and I think not any true note is to be heard. Anyway I like the color and thank the artist Maarten Baas with his exposition Hide & Seek.
ROOFTOP
I like the old rooftop in combination with the modern statue somewhere in the middle of the old town Dordrecht.
The reflection in the balloons of the old building at the other side of te street is a little bit different, because of the position and dimension of the specific balloon. Anyway it got my attention. So, once again I have to state: photographing day by day keeps you alert and there is always a kind of magic somewhere in the air.

CHAOS
Back home after enjoying a small vacation, I looked around in the garden. Life is always going on, especially during dry weather conditions.

I mostly fall in love visiting a museum. Sometimes it’s about the art showing at expositions.
Sometimes it’s about the building itself. Visiting the Groninger Museum in Holland it was both of them.
I do have a obsession for the beauty of stairs in particular.

The curves as shown remind me of some of my settings in Photoshop. I think the farmer took a nap during his mechanical potato sewing.
THE LARGEST HUNEBED
Hunebed D27 surpasses all the other Dutch megaliths in various respects. Measuring 22,6 meters, it is the longest of them all. It has the most supporting stones (26) and its largest capstone is the heaviest of all surviving hunebed stones. And it is here that the earliest known excavation of a hunebed took place. That was in 1685, under supervision of Titia Brongersma. I am talking about Borger – a little village in the north of Holland. The oldest known dolmens are in Western Europe, where they were set in place around 7,000 years ago. I loved the black and whites underneath the dolmen.
Today I made just one shot. It;s about the line of looking at an image. At first the sharper parts an than the lighter ones. And of course following the lines.
That’s how I learned it and it is still working I think. Look for yourself…

WAVING IN THE WIND
It’s always great to come home and to experience the outcome the same as made up in mind during the making of the image. Today the sun was shining and the wind blowed his own rhythm. I saw the yellow lilies and the waving grass and reed. In order to get a slow shutter speed I used my ND filter. With the waving grass in front and the waving reed at the backside of the lilies I could freeze the moment at 1/13 second. The lilies waiting at ditch-side. In Lightroom I pushed the yellows and lowered the greens a little bit. I love the moving and non moving structure.

MAGIC
Looking outside this morning – during my Tai Chi exercises – I got a glimpse of this rose.
I found her inviting me for a magical shot in the morning light.
And once again I was surprised by the beauty of her appearance, saying: ‘just look and let’s be silent’.
